PROPOSITION AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR PAPER MACHINE

Frank S. Sill - Monroe, Mich.

We will furnish a Cylinder Paper Machine, including double Mould Vat with 2 Cylinder Moulds 50 x 68 inches, extra heavy, with number (gauge) any foundation wire, and number (gauge) any face, ready to put on Screen vat and Screen frame complete with 7 - 10 x 30 x ¼ Screen plates, cut number (gauge) any wire gauge Shaker shaft with chilled iron cams, steel-faced striking irons, frames and boxes.

2 Couchers 16 x 68 inches, wood face, with iron spiders, shaft, boxes and arms.

Fan pump of improved construction, with outside stand, pulleys and necessary pipe to connect with vat.

Stuff Pump with counter shaft bearings and pulleys. 4⅜" gun metal plungers.

First Press, Under Roll iron 12 x 66, Upper Roll iron 12 x 66, with stands, rods, weights and levers. Whitewood Rolls for carrying wet felt back shower pipes, whipper, stretcher screws, etc.

Second Press, Under Roll iron 12 x 66, Upper Roll iron 12 x 66 with stands, rods, weights and levers. Pillar stands and stretchers. Whitewood Rolls for carrying felt, etc.

Dryers, seven Cast Iron Cylinders, 36 inches in diameter, 64 inches face, with ground joints, surfaces accurately turned and ground, with boxes, feed and exhaust pipes fitted with improved packings, with necessary gears, frames, stands, etc. Paper Rolls made of 4" flues. Felt Rolls over dryers made of 4" flues, accurately turned; all other Rolls of whitewood, with stretcher, screws and shaft.

Calenders, 2 – 12 x 64 and 4 – 8 x 64 inch Rolls made of Chilled Iron. 2 – 6" rolls on the 6th dryer, accurately ground, with stands, boxes, rods, levers, weights, gears, etc.

One set of six Revolving Reels, with stands, boxes, gears, and tension wheels.

One Heavy Stock Cutter, with rolls, gearing and shafting, 4 pairs of improved Trimmers with self-acting ledger knife, operating perfectly without cams; full set of segments.

All necessary shafting, gearing, etc., to connect Press Rolls, Dryers, Calenders, Reel and Cutter. All running with even pulleys without unnecessary lagging, and including five pairs of speed gears, giving a range of from twenty to over one hundred feet per minute. Self-adjusting floor stands to support shafting. Felts and belts not included. Core gear & pinion for driving shaker shaft, full back line shaft (2¾ inch). Dryers driven by gears direct.

All to be constructed in the most thorough and workmanlike manner, of first class material, and warranted to do good work if properly cared for. To be delivered on the cars at Beloit, Wisconsin, except chilled rolls which may be delivered F.O.B. Ansonia, Conn. on or before the 18th day of July, 1882, and a competent man furnished to set the same up, ready to run in the mill of the purchaser for the Sum of Eight Thousand Two Hundred Twenty-five dollars ($8,225) including two Beating engines as per specifications dated Mar. 15, 1882.

Payable $1000 cash with order, $1000 on shipment of machinery, $1000 30-days after shipment, and balance in notes of equal amounts payable in 6 to 12 months from the last named date, with 7% interest.

Freight to be paid and Machinery delivered in the mill by the purchaser, who is also to construct all necessary foundations and supports and furnish laboring help to assist in moving and placing machinery.
