ABOUT THE TREE MACHINE: THE TREE MACHINE is a proprietary concept of Luigi Bagnato and has evolved over a long period of time. The first presentation was back in 1965 and used hand drawn overhead slides made on the spur of the moment by me and Tom Jonesof Beloit Corporation before a customer paper machine presentation in one of the conference rooms at Beloit Corporation. This was followed later by professionally imaged overheads. Later the presentation used 35MM slides and was augmented with a video made by Beloits' Stan Christianson. The Tree Machine has been presented at meetings of TAPPI, PIMA, CPPA, The Pulp Chemical Association, University of Maine-Summer Institute and many corporate meetings. In the past when using a dial-up connection, loading the large movie and image files required of the Tree Machine presentation was time consuming and presentation on the Internet was not practical. Now that High Speed connections have become popular it is more practical to repost the Tree Machine. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DOWNLOAD THE IMAGE OR MOVIE FILES: If the Tree Machine is displayed on other web sites we would appreciate a link back to our web site. A PAPER MAKER'S DILEMMA: Courtesy of Bill Boyce - former Beloit employee.
I once heard of a start-up caper. THE REAL STORY: We proved the axiom, the truth is stranger than fiction. We don't know if Bill Boyce had any specific time frame or machine in mind when he composed the Paper Maker's Dilemma above, but we found THE REAL STORY proves the axiom that THE TRUTH IS STRANGER THAN FICTION. |
