Comments:

Manufactured the first wire wound couch roll for Westminster

and the first wire wound breast roll for Scott.

Acquired the A, and B. Welding Shop for coating rectifier rolls.

Total land area now occupied is approximately 16,910 acres.

Occupied former Besly boiler house with blacksmith department.

Made a 27" boring bar for boring 316" dryers.

On May 10 the Northwestern Division of Paper Mill Superintendents

was entertained by the company.

Mr. E. EL Neese, Sr. elected chairman of the board of Beloit

Iron Works, and Vice President Harry C. Moore elevated to the

presidency on April 12.

Built and occupied new dryer shop, shipping facilities, erecting

floor addition, and steel stores.

Re-established pattern shop in former Dowd building.

Present production department occupied and tabulating department

extended.

Tool room moved to first floor of Besly building along with experi-

mental department and tool checking.

Personnel department moved to second floor of Besly building along

with Credit Union, visual and audio testing, and conference room.

Sub-assembly moved to third floor of the Besly building,

Established station to station inter-departmental mail delivery.

Established the present receiving and repair shipping departments.

Mr. E, H, Neese, Sr., presented with degree of doctor of law by

Beloit College, while Mrs. E. H. Neese, Sr., was presented with degree of fine arts.

T. Joseph Burns made southern representative out of Decatur, Georgia.

Leased additional car parking area from the Beloit Boxboard Company

along the river front comprising approximately three and a half acres.

Purchased from Charles EL Besly Company 1.227 acres and acquired

St. Lawrence Avenue parking lot with an additional . 390 acres.

of manufacturing; C. E. Macklem, vice president of sales; J. E. Goodwillie,

vice president; L, Hornbostel, vice president of engineering; W. C. Smith,

secretary; Mrs, E. HL Neese, Sr., director.

Produced: Eight winders, nine presses, eight fourdriniers, nine

pressure inlets, ten dryer sections, three calenders, five breaker stacks,

and two coaters.
