“Merrill and Houston Iron Works”

Comments:

The Merrill and Houston Iron Works” was reorganized 

as a corporation with C. F. G. Collins as General Manager.

Colonel H. A. Frambach and John Stovekin

started the Frambach and Stovekin Mill. This mill

was known as the Eagle Mill and was the first mill

to install a pulp machine for grinding wood pulp logs.

A. W. Pat t en started the Patten Paper Company,

Limited, in Appleton, Wisconsin, turning out

three tons of print, book, and manila paper per day.
