Built addition to engineering and office building and placed the

cornerstone at entrance.

Inaugurated training program for "on the job" trained veterans

under E. G. Hazlett.

Resumed manufacture of paper mill machinery during June.

Completed all war contracts by October.

Seventh annual picnic for employee families at Hononegah Park.

Informed by war department that company was entitled to the

addition of another star to its existing Army Navy Production Award.

Final Victory Loan letter sent to all employees.

Plant Open House held in July, at which time the above mentioned

cornerstone was laid.

V-E Day on May 8.

Employee members of the machinist union requested the privilege of taking a strike vote.

C. E. Macklem, vice president, elected to the local school board

(1945-1950).

Robert Hendry made superintendent of foundry and wood shop.

Company discontinued making power for its own use.

Built and installed a 22" boring bar for dryer shop, allowing the

boring of 257" long dryers.

A new 150 HP boiler installed and enclosed and roofed outdoor

storage platform for use as additional erecting floor.

Acquired 1.313 acres by filling in tail raceway separating island

from former Race Street property.

War production; Windlasses, cam cases, pistons, over-arms,

air guides for powder mills, rubber calenders, gland rings, diesel

blocks, piston rods, steady-rests, powder mills, and rubber mills.
