GET BIRTH STATISTICS USING A COMMON TAPE MEASURE

A standard measuring tape, when folded over will indicate your age opposite your birth year. When folded over with the clip aligned with the current year (98" for 1998), the tape reads the year of birth on one side and age in years on the opposite side.

If you were born in January of 1955, read your birth year as 55". Flip the tape and read your age as 43 (43").

If you were born in July of 1955, read your birth year/month as 55 ½". Flip the tape and read your age as 42 ½ (42 ½").

If you were born prior to 1949, read your birth on the bottom loop of the tape and your age on the top loop of the tape.

You can work the whole thing backwards. Find your age in inches and read the year/month of your birth opposite.
